Bluff City Theater is proud to present the Midwest Winds Quintet of the USAF Band of Mid-America in a special free concert on Tuesday, April 25th. The ensemble will be performing two concerts-one in the afternoon for area schoolchildren and one in the evening at 7:30 p.m. for the general public.
The Midwest Winds is a celebrated ensemble of career members of the United States Air Force who perform around the world as a primary outreach between the USAF and the community. Their stop in Hannibal is part of a tour of the Midwest this spring.
“We’re very pleased that the Midwest Winds chose to make Hannibal one of their stops on this tour,” said Joe Anderson, Executive Director of Bluff City Theater. “Our 90-seat theater space is ideally suited to this type of performance and we hope to be able to utilize it more often for purposes beyond traditional theater going forward.”
The ensemble plays a wide variety or repertoire and for this concert, audiences can expect to hear the works of great American composers such as Aaron Copeland as well as some traditional marches and classical pieces.
“This concert is being presented free-of-charge by the ensemble and Bluff City Theater is making its space available for no cost”, said Anderson. However, since we are limited in seating, we are asking people to reserve their tickets in advance to be sure of getting a seat.
